Program Notes

Landscape Greeting was commissioned by Proxima: Music for the Next Century, an ensemble of performers from the Fresno Symphony. The piece was to be played at a concert in March 2020 during the opening of an art show of American Landscape Paintings at the Fresno Museum. The concert and opening were canceled at the very last minute in response to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, Rei Hotada, conductor of the symphony, decided to present the work as a virtual performance in June 2020. She and her husband Brian Dollinger constructed the video of that performance which includes art from the museum; it is available for viewing here
