Program Notes

Inter Alia was written for and dedicated to the Huntingdon Trio in 1980. The work is based on thirteen types of music presented so that each type is temporally adjacent to the other types once and only once. The result is a through-composed form that combines features of a rondo and a set of variations.

The work was revised in 1998 which involved the recomposition of several passages and the addition of one measure, a short solo for the cello.

The Huntingdon Trio recorded the work (Composers Recordings, CRI-484) in 1983.
