Driving Directions

When driving, Syracuse University is most easily reached from Interstate 81. New York State Thruway travelers should exit at Interstate 81 (Thruway Exit 36) and proceed south.

Both northbound and southbound travelers on Interstate 81 should exit at Adams Street (Exit 18.)

Continue up the Adams Street hill to Irving Avenue.

Turn right onto Irving Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the Carrier Dome on your left.

Turn right down the hill on East Raynor Avenue. A number of parking garages and lots as well as meter parking spots are available in this area, on East Raynor Avenue, Henry Street and Standard Street.


Walk back down Irving Avenue, until you come to pedestrian stairs covered with a "tube" of plexiglass.

After walking up through the two stair "tubes," do not enter the building but find more stairs to get to the top of the building.

Now walk away from Irving Avenue (which will be far below you) into the campus.

You will see Crouse College on the left with the bell tower.

Continue to walk straight between Steel and Eggers Halls.

You will be walking toward the back of Hendricks Chapel, the building in front of you with the domed roof. Walk around it until you see the quad.
